Previously Restored 1953 MG TD Convertible

This previously restored 1953 MG TC Convertible was purchased by the seller in 2020, following a controlled long-term storage, and displays only 2,642 miles since completion of the restoration. Finished in white with a red leather interior and tan fabric top, the restoration appears to have been well maintained overall and is described by the seller as “immaculate.” As a testament to this work, the car won a class award at the 2023 Audrain Newport Concours d'Elegance (but the trophy is not being transferred with the sale). The seller adds that the MG “drives as it was designed, and everything works.” Extensive photos documenting the restoration and receipts come with the sale.

The seller states that this vehicle will be sold on a clean Rhode Island title in his name. This 1953 MG TD Convertible is documented to have undergone a complete, frame-up restoration in the early 1990s as a retirement gift to a father from his sons. When the father became unable to drive, the TD went into extended controlled storage on blocks with all fluids drained. The TD came out of storage in 2019 and was purchased by the seller in 2020. The sale is accompanied by “tons of receipts” and a binder of restoration photos according to the seller.
